2-1-1 helps callers seeking H1N1 flu vaccination information

Riverside County's phone hotline for social referral services takes on a bigger role

Riverside County has expanded its 2-1-1 information and referral hotline to include H1N1 vaccination information

The increased call volume about pandemic H1N1 (swine) flu is impacting County health phone lines. Now, the Riverside County 2-1-1- referral services number can also answer questions about flu vaccination and related information. 2-1-1 is operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In addition to the 2-1-1 phone number, useful online resources about H1N1, include:

2-1-1 is a three-digit phone number designated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for information and referral services. In Riverside County, dialing 2-1-1 is a help source to find information and referrals for:

  • Food Assistance
  • Shelter and Housing Services
  • Employment Opportunities
  • Health and Dental Care
  • Legal Assistance
  • Advocacy
  • Counseling
  • Volunteer Opportunities
  • Child Care and Parenting Resources
  • Support Groups
  • Youth and Senior Services
  • Disability Services

2-1-1 is a program of the Volunteer Center of Riverside County. Sponsors include United Way, SNAP, Department of Public Social Services and Riverside Community Health Foundation.
