Annual Lakes Guide touts recreational value of Lake Elsinore!
As featured in Western Outdoor News weekly
It's no secret that Lake Elsinore is one of southern California's best recreational values, says Western Outdoor News, a sportsman's weekly publication...
Lake Elsinore is the cover story of the 2010 edition of the California Lakes Guide, published annually by Western Outdoor News. The issue hit newsstands this week and is bound to be a sellout (Volume 58, Number 22, May 28, 2010).
City officials and Lake Elsinore Bass Club members were pleasantly surprised to learn Wednesday that a Lake article submitted by City staff as part of a promotional package, wound up on the cover.
The California Lakes Guide represents a targeted marketing opportunity to promote the Lake, according to Pat Kilroy, the City's Lake and Aquatic Resources Director. Anglers and hunting enthusiasts are the main readers of the annual Lakes Guide, which profiles the best lakes the Golden State has to offer.
On the cover, local angler Jim Trimmer is pictured holding up two large hybrid striped bass, or wipers, of nine that were caught at Lake Elsinore in under two hours!
The 2010 California Lakes Guide is packed with information about how the Lake has been improved through the efforts of local agencies working together, plus a promotional ad and sidebar about the effectiveness of hybrid striped bass in helping to balance the fishery.
Published weekly, Western Outdoor News is sold in sporting goods stores, tackle shops, and on newsstands at grocery and convenience stores throughout southern California. Visit them at www.WONews.com.
