HolyFire Update: 22,986 acres, 72% containment

All Mandatory Evacuations have been lifted. Voluntary evacuations remain in place for Trilogy. All roads in the City are now open including Ortega Highway. The lake is also reopened to recreational activities.

Evacuations

Mandatory evacuations continue for El Cariso Village and Rancho Capistrano. Voluntary evacuations still in place for Trilogy. No evacuations remain in the City of Lake Elsinore.

Road Closures

All local roads are now open. However, Hwy 74/Ortega Highway remains closed. Find the latest information about Hwy 74 at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/.

The Holy Fire is among one of the worst disasters to affect the City of Lake Elsinore. Structures Lost: 1 in El Cariso (up in the mountain side of Grand Avenue)

Injuries: 2 minor injuries to fire personnel

Shelter: Temescal Canyon High School, 28755 El Toro Rd., Lake Elsinore

  • No animals allowed. Services on-site: Disaster Health Services (ARC), Disaster Mental Health Services (ARC)
  • American Red Cross Safe and Well Website is operational, with registration taking place at Temescal High School or https://safeandwell.communityos.org/cms/index.php

RV Sites for Evacuees: RV sites with full hookups are available for evacuees at Lake Skinner. There are no costs for evacuees. A valid ID with impacted zip code will be used for proof of residence. 

Animal Shelter:

  • Animal Friends of the Valleys is not accepting animals; this site is only open for owners to reclaim their pets. Hours of operation: Mon., Tues, Thurs, Fri: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Wed: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Sat: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus:  581 S Grand Ave, San Jacinto, CA 92582
    • Accepting large and small animals.
    • Hours of operations: Open 24 hours
  • Temescal Canyon High School:  28755 El Toro Rd. Lake Elsinore 92532. There are two Animal Control Officers staged for small animal transport to the San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus
  • Elsinore High School Agricultural Site:  21800 Canyon Drive, Wildomar 92595
    • Accepting livestock which includes large animals
    • No fees for animals impounded from the Holy Fire incident.
