McVicker Canyon Skate Park Renovation Underway
New Park Expected to Open by End of the Year
On August 30th, 2018, the City officially broke ground on its newest, state-of-the-art, 13,000 square foot skatepark at McVicker Canyon Park.
McVicker Canyon Skate Park opened in 2002 and was the City's first skate park. Today, it is one of three skate parks in the City. McVicker Canyon Skate Park was closed in October 2017 due to severe vandalism and deterioration that made it unsafe for the community.
The new and improved McVicker Canyon Skate Park will offer extreme features for both beginners and experts alike. It is being built to align with the city's status as the Action Sports Capital of the World and will embody and represent our vision to "Dream Extreme."
