Post Date:02/18/2020 5:25 PM

Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley has completed the construction of a replica of the historic Jean Hayman house. The house will be given to a well-deserving Lake Elsinore family, the Barringer Family. This project was made possible as a collaborative effort with Habitat for Humanity, the City of Lake Elsinore, Riverside County, Lake Elsinore Historical Society, and the Kumar Family.

Deserving, single mother, Rita Barringer and her four sons will be the recipients of the home and there will be a New Home Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. located at 310 E. Pottery Street.

The replica of the historic Jean Hayman house will consist of 3-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms. Construction for this home included the "Women's Build," which consisted of more than 40 women from across the region who joined forces for one day to work on this home. The Barringer Family also helped build this home.

History behind the Jean Hayman Home

Jean Hayman was a beloved school teacher and member of the Lake Elsinore Community. Building this home in replication of the original Jean Hayman house would be honoring a very beloved and important teacher and leader in Lake Elsinore's history.
