Safety Message Regarding Protests, No Curfew in Place

Riverside County Proclaims a Local Emergency and Sets a Curfew to Protect Communities

City Response & Statement Urging Residents to be Safe Amidst Planned Protests 

The City is aware of planned protests in our community. At this time, two events have been planned by outside groups on the following dates, times and locations:

Wednesday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Lakepoint Park 

Tuesday, June 9 at 12:00 p.m. at City Park

In response, Mayor Brian Tisdale and Lake Sheriff's Station Captain Michael Lujan shared the following safety message for our community urging residents to stay away from potentially dangerous situations and to help protect the community. 

The City encourages peaceful and respectable demonstrations to engage in freedom of speech. The City and our law enforcement teams are fully prepared to best protect our residents and our businesses from unnecessary illegal behaviors.  

 At this time, no curfew is in place. 

On Monday, June 1, the County of Riverside proclaimed a local emergency and set a countywide curfew from June 1st at 6 p.m. to June 2nd at 6 a.m. This curfew was not extended. There is currently no curfew in place in Lake Elsinore.
