Downtown Pavement Project to Improve 16 Streets
Project begins July 13 with completion expected in October 2020
Starting Monday, July 13th, the City will begin Phase 1 of the Downtown Streets Pavement Rehabilitation & Striping Project. This project is the latest step the City is taking to continue its investment in beautifying our Downtown area by improving more than 1 million square feet of roadways. Improvements are planned for 16 streets in the downtown area.
In recent years, the City has invested in improving our downtown roadways including Graham Avenue, Main Street, Sumner, Chaney Street, and this year's Downtown Sidewalk Project. Phase 2 of this project has been approved to take place next year.
Notices have been mailed to residents impacted by these improvements. Notices will be sent again to residents at least two days prior to official construction beginning on their street.
Project Location: Historic Downtown Lake Elsinore on the following 16 streets:
- Chaney Street
- Minthorn Street
- Pottery Street
- Matich Street
- Townsend Street
- Davis Street
- Lewis Street
- Scrivener Street
- Lowell Street
- Kellogg Street
- Langstaff Street
- Silver Street
- Lindsay Street
- Poe Street
- Riley Street
- Flint Street
- Grind and Overlay, Crack Seal and Slurry Seal based on condition of the roadway
- Curb and Gutter
- Thermoplastic Traffic Striping
Cost: $1,392,666 funded by SB1 Funds and Measure A
Construction Start Date: Monday, July 13, 2020
Estimated Construction Completion: October 2020
July 13, 2020 - Construction is underway at Matich and Townsend St.! Demo, clearing and grading has begun prior to being widened. This phase of construction should last until early next week with concrete cross gutters, curbs and ramps starting next week.
