On November 3rd, the residents of the City of Lake Elsinore voted in favor of Measure Z, a locally controlled one-cent, or one percent, transactions and use tax to generate unrestricted general fund dollars for municipal services to ensure the City is self-reliant for current public safety needs and is prepared for any health or catastrophic emergency.

With the passing of Measure Z, the City is establishing a Citizen Committee to review and advise upon the spending and use of Measure Z funding. The committee provides financial transparency and ensures the funding is being used in a manner appropriate to the established goals and needs of the community. 

The application to serve on the Measure Z Citizen Committee opened on Wednesday, January 13th and will close on Friday, February 12th at 4:00 p.m. The committee will be comprised of five members, one member from each city council district, who will serve for up to two years. Three members (Districts 2, 4, and 5) will serve until December 31, 2021 and two members (Districts 1 and 3) terms will serve until December 31, 2022.

Applicants may only apply for the council district they reside in. To be eligible for this committee, you must be a Lake Elsinore resident who is over the age of 18 and does NOT currently serve on any city commission, NOT employed by the city, or does NOT have an existing contract with the city.
