During Spring of 2019, the City of Lake Elsinore enjoyed the natural and beautiful Super Bloom of 2019. Each year since then, the City of Lake Elsinore in partnership with Riverside County Parks and the Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority (RCA) closely monitor Walker Canyon for potential poppy blooms.
Although many are eager to see the Super Bloom again, the City of Lake Elsinore has had a dry winter overall with only 4.69 inches of rain as of February 24, 2022. In comparison, the City had more than 20 inches of rain during the 2019 Super Bloom (more information below). Last year, the City of Lake Elsinore experienced a low amount or rain as well, and unfortunately, several wet years in a row are necessary for a super bloom. Therefore, we do not expect a large wildflower bloom this year. The City is working with our partners to closely monitor for a bloom and will update our website if there are any changes.
