Downtown Master Plan

A plan for future development in the downtown

 

 

The Downtown Master Plan seeks to create a vibrant and sustainable downtown area with strong civic identity. A significant physical connection will be achieved between Interstate 15 and the lakefront via five seperate and distinguisable districts.

 

The purpose of the Downtown Master Plan is to...

 

  • Create a readily actuated and incremental comprehensive urban design vision for the area;
  • Provide land development regulations and a regulatory framework to guide future public and private development in the area;
  • Encourage the development of public space and community art;
  • Foster opportunities for historic preservation and redevelopment;
  • Develop evidence-based economic strategies and a comprehensive implementation plan necessary to support the desired vision; and
  • Establish and recognize an innovative and distinct Main Street ambiance and experience.

 

The project boundary is generally located South of Interstate 15, and North of the Lakefront between Riley Street and Chestnut Street.
