The 2019 Superbloom is a natural phenomenon unlike anything the City has ever experienced and demonstrates the extreme beauty of the City of Lake Elsinore. We would like to thank residents and visitors for their patience as we faced substantial challenges related to this international attraction. At this time, the City is experiencing a high call volume. Walker Canyon is currently open, however parking is very limited. Lake Street and Nichols Road are also now open. For more information, call the Superbloom Hotline at 951-471-1238 or check the City's social media feeds.

Traffic Signals

Currently, the city owns 47 traffic signals with an additional 7 traffic signals that are co-owned with the City of Wildomar (County maintained).  Traffic signals along State Route 74 and on freeway on/off-ramps are Caltrans maintained.  There are 15 Caltrans traffic signals that the City could inherit with the acquisition of State Route 74.  Maintenance responsibility falls to the owing agency; information on reporting a malfunctioning traffic signal can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions. (FAQ)

Traffic signals are installed by new development as a condition of approval when needed based on a City approved traffic study.  Signals are also installed as part of City capital improvement projects.
