Mission Statement

The Lake Elsinore Fire Prevention Bureau is dedicated to the preservation of life and property. We believe the best way to accomplish these goals are through the education of our community, through the engineering of complex situations, and through the enforcement of state and local codes. Through these efforts, we strive to provide the highest degree of life safety throughout the City of Lake Elsinore at each and every home, workplace, and event.

The Lake Elsinore Fire Prevention Bureau enforces The 2013 California Title 24 Provisions including Fire Codes, Residential Code and Building Codes, Title 19 Life Safety Code, The California Health & Safety Code, and Lake Elsinore Municipal Code as of January 1st, 2014.


The Fire Department conducts business license inspections to promote fire safety for business owners, their employees, and the general public. These forms have been developed to assist you in making your business a safer place and to prepare you for the Fire Inspection. The second form is to assist in determining what business operations may require special permits.

Additionally the Fire Department has developed a document that may assist Owners and businesses with ongoing maintenance of fire safety provision compliance with greater detail than the pre-inspection form.

There have been reports of phony fire inspectors posing as fire department representatives. The reports state that these phony inspectors enter facilities and conduct inspections and proceed to bill the tenant large fees for the report. Please review the following news release here!
