The Planning Commission meets on
the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. at the Cultural
Center. The Commission is appointed by the City Council to
review, approve or deny all development proposals. The Commission
may advise the City Council in the application or development
of policies on Land Use and Physical Development within the
City. The Commission also reviews and recommends proposed
amendments to the General Plan or Zoning Regulations and Standards.
Public
Safety Advisory Commission
Reauthorized by City Council in April 2004. Commission
members are appointed by the City Council for a term of four
years. The Commission serves as a conduit of information from
the residents and business people of Lake Elsinore to their
Public Safety, Code Enforcement and Emergency Services professionals.

* The City Council has extended these three PSAC terms during the transition to staggered four-year terms. Four year terms for two the remaining Commission seats take effect July 1, 2007.
Lake Elsinore Public Finance Authority
A joint exercise of powers between the City and Redevelopment
Agency created by an agreement dated July 25, 1989. The purpose
of the Authority is to provide, through the issuance of revenue
bonds, a financing pool to fund capital improvement projects.
The Authority does not have taxing power. The City Council
also acts as the governing body of the Authority.

The City Council also sits as the Executive Board of the
Lake Elsinore Redevelopment Agency (RDA). The RDA's purpose
is to eliminate blighted areas by encouraging the development
of residential, commercial, industrial, recreational and public
facilities. It has the authority to enter into contracts and
incur debt. The RDA was established July 15, 1980 under State
of California Health and Safety Code, Section 33000 entitled
"Community Development Law." RDA meetings are held
every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at the Cultural Center, in conjunction
with regular meetings of the City Council.
Lake Elsinore Recreation Authority

is to fund capital improvement projects through issuance of
revenue bonds. The Authority does not have taxing power. The
City Council also acts as the governing body of the Recreation
Authority.

The Nuisance Abatement Committee oversees due process procedures
for the abatement of buildings and structures in non-compliance
with Municipal Codes for safety, or other violations. This
committee will meet the first Tuesday of the month at 5:00
P.M. prior to the Planning Commission meeting.
