Business License Getting Started

The City of Lake Elsinore wants your business to start successfully. Before applying for your business license for your commercial or home based location, or making significant business commitments, please contact our Community Development Department at 951.674.3124 to insure that your business is a permitted use at your chosen location. Other business types will not require planning approval but, depending on your type of business, there may be additional requirements from other agencies.

Step One: Select your type of business

• Commercial/Industrial/Retail/Office (located within the city limits)
• Home Based Business (Home Offices, Internet, Mail Order and other services where business is located at a residence located within the city limits)
• State Licensed Contractor’s
• Out of Town/Miscellaneous (Service businesses i.e., Janitorial, Housekeeping, Lawn Service, Handyman Service, Consulting, and any other business that may not physically located within the city limits but enters the city to conduct business)
• Mobile Food Vendors (Ice cream trucks, catering, etc.)
• Massage Technicians and Massage Establishment Owners
