Southwest Communities Animal Shelter Opens in 2010The Southwest Community Financing Authority is a joint-powers agency of Riverside County & the Cities of Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Murrieta, Temecula & Wildomar. Funding for the 32,000 sq. ft. shelter is $11.4 million.Animal Control services are provided through a contract with Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV). Animals collected by Humane & Animal Services Officers will be taken to the current site on Bastron Street in Lake Elsinore. Phone: (951) 674-0618, Fax (951) 674-4401. Open Monday through Saturday, between the hours of 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Humane & Animal Services Officers respond to calls from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They respond to all EMERGENCIES within the city limits after regular business hours. AFV provides animal services to the cities of Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Murrieta,Temecula and Wildomar.
Emergency animal services are available 7 days/week, 24 hours/day. AFV can answer emergency calls only within Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Murrieta,Temecula and Wildomar city limits.
