Historic Downtown Main Street

Our historic downtown reflects a rich and colorful history dating back to 1888. A stroll down Main Street, with its antique shops, fine dining, novelty stores, museum and vintage street lamps, takes visitors back into a time reminiscent of the early 1900s.

Main Street Events

• Art Walk
  The Elsinore Valley Art Network sponsors an Art Walk on the 1st Saturday of each month from 4-8pm, from March through October. Local artists display their work along the sidewalks downtown once a month.
  
• Frontier Days Festival
  Friday, Saturday, Sunday; April 24, 25, 26, 2009
  Join your Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Elsinore Visitor's Bureau as they host this wild west event.
  
• Car Shows
  The Downtown Merchants sponsor a monthly car show from April through November, 5-8pm, featuring classic cars of all makes and models, as well as a variety of customized show cars. Contact Rick Carpenter at (951) 245-3739 for more information. Click for event flyer.
  
• Safe Candy Night
  Saturday, October 31, 2009
  Merchants open on Main Street to pass out candy to the little ghouls and goblins.
  
• Unity in the Community Parade
  November 2009
  Local schools and clubs participate in our annual parade highlighting the community of Lake Elsinore.
  
• Winterfest
  Friday, December 4, 2009
  To kick off the winter holiday season we light the Holiday Tree, play in tons of snow, and provide a visit with Santa.
  
• Farmers Market
  Temporarily on hold – watch for new schedule. The Downtown Merchants Association sponsors a Farmers Market featuring locally grown produce, live music and sidewalk sales.

Historical Sites

There are numerous historical sites in this 120 year old city.  Many of these can be found right here in the downtown.
