The City of Lake Elsinore uses the following social media sites to provide another avenue for residents and businesses to connect with the City in a modern and convenient way. Please review the City's Social Media Policy before making online comments.
Facebook is a social network service, which allows users to create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Facebook allows its users to make new connections who share a common interest, expanding their personal network. By using Facebook "pages", the City can communicate newsworthy City-related information to Facebook users who "like" our page.
Twitter, a social networking and microblogging service, is used as a communication tool which enables its users to send and read messages called tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters. Users may subscribe to other users' tweets - this is known as following and subscribers are known as followers.
