| Storm Drains and Protecting Lake Water
Quality
The City of Lake Elsinore maintains public storm drain structures,
drainage pipes, concrete channels, and dirt drainage ditches. The
street division is responsible for the inspection and maintenance
of the storm drain system. This includes repairing grates, clearing
blocked drainpipes, and cleaning debris from the storm drain structures.
Our goal is to limit the number of flooding incidents by keeping
the drains clear with regular maintenance and cleaning.
Did you know that storm drains are not connected to the sewage
treatment plant? Most eventually drain to the lake. So it's important
that nothing be allowed to flow into the storm drain system but
normal run off water. To find out how you can protect our lake by
preventing storm drain pollution, visit the Storm
Water/Clean Water Protection Program web site. And remember,
never pour household chemicals, paints, auto fluids, or motor oil
in a storm drain.
To report storm drain problems or for more information, please
call the Public Works Department at 951.674.5170.
