The
Lake Elsinore Senior Center provides information and referrals,
support services, nutrition programs, clubs & organizations,
food distribution programs, special events, health screenings,
support groups, public information programs, special services,
field trips, social & recreational programs, classes,
and a place to play cards, games, pool, horseshoes, read,
watch videos, visit with friends, listen to music or watch
TV.
SENIOR SERVICES
The following services are provided free of charge to seniors.
Call the center for an appointment or additional information.
Daily Nutrition Program provides meals Mon - Fri,
11:30am by the Family Services Assoc. $2 suggested donation
for seniors 60 years +. Call 24 hrs. in advance to make reservations
at 471-3571.
Consumer Advocate will be available Mondays by appointment
to provide assistance on problems of merchant disputes, property
transfers, contract violations, landlord disputes, small claims
court assistance and much more.
Bereavement Counseling & Support Group Services
are now available upon request by Karen Lindeberg, MS. Individual
& group assistance for those experiencing the loss of
a spouse, family member, friend or other type of loss, such
as that experienced from a relocation, family problems, divorce
or due to an illness. There is someone here to help.
HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy
Program) provides help to those needing assistance with issues
associated with Medicare and related supplemental insurance
programs (HMO). Counselor meets with seniors to resolve issues
& provide information by appointment.
Paralegal Services are provided by G.O. "Red"
Granger from Inland Counties Legal Services once a month (3rd
Wed) to deal with legal issues of seniors by appointment
Social Security representative is available the 2nd
Tuesday each month, 9am - 1pm. No appointment necessary.
Blood Pressure Checks are conducted on the 3rd Wednesday
each month, 10:30am provided by the Ramona Visiting Nurses
Association.
Food Distribution Programs:
These programs are restricted by age and residency. Contact
the group on the day/times listed for specific details.
- Bread - Wed, 8-10am
- Brown Bag - 2nd/4th Thurs, 9-11am
- Survive Food - 2nd Wed, 8-10am
Pantry available for emergency services for residents. Contact
the Center for information.
SPECIAL PROGRAM & EVENTS
Computer Lab
Leard how to use a PC for word processing, surfing the Internet,
e-mail and more. Classes for first timers and current PC users.
Senior Pet Program
Throughout the months of October & November a variety
of activities featuring your pets will be planned
Information
on Pet Health & Wellness, Pet Pictures, Pet contests and
more. It's time to honor your "Best Friends".
Senior Flu Shot Clinic
To be announced.
Holiday Boutique Handmade crafts, quilts, jams, and
other artwork will be on sale. Beautiful gifts & decorations.
Free admission.
Holiday Open House Festivities, Refreshments and entertainment.
Holiday Concert Entertainment and refreshments.
FUNDRAISERS
All proceeds from fundraisers and donations are used to provide
programs and services at the Senior Center. Most services
and programs are provided free to allow everyone to participant;
however we gladly accept donations from those able to contribute.
CLASSES, CLUBS, AND GROUPS FOR SENIORS

Art Class - Paletteers Art Group, meets every Monday, 1:00pm.
Call for details.
Arthritis Support Group - new members welcome each meeting.
Meets 3rd Monday, 12:30pm. Monthly program, refreshments,
door prizes.
AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) Lake Elsinore
Chapter #4056, meets the 3rd Friday each month, 1:00pm with
informative speakers, entertainment, refreshments, door prizes.
Members & non-members welcome!
Bingo Club - meets every Tuesday, 1:00 - 4:00pm. New members
welcome. Cash prizes & free coffee provided. Refreshments.
Bridge Club meets every Friday at 12n. All levels, social
games. Call in advance to arrange to play at 674-2526. Those
wanting to learn or refresh old skills can contact the center
about bridge lessons, too.
Calligraphy Class, the art of handwriting, Wednesdays, 1:00pm.
Call for start dates.
Cards & Games
Pinochle games played on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12:30pm;
Scrabble games on Thursdays, 1:00pm. Other games, days &
times can be arranged.
Happy Recycler Exercise Program meets Mondays & Fridays,
9:30 - 11:30am. All levels welcome.
Pool Groups meet Mondays & Fridays, 12:30pm, with tournaments
held the last Monday of each month. Drop-in use available
during regular center hours. Equipment available for check
out in office.
Self-Hypnosis for Weight Loss by Master Hypnotist Lawrence
West. 4-week sessions, Wednesdays, 11:00am. Call for start
dates.
Senior Crafts meets every Thursday, 1:00pm. Variety of craft
projects. New members welcome.
