Community Surveys Show Lake Elsinore Residents Value Quality of Life Services

A City of Lake Elsinore Community Satisfaction Survey conducted in 2019 and 2020 by True North Research shows residents are highly satisfied with their quality of life but are also concerned about maintaining core programs such as public safety and public works services.

Said City Manager Grant Yates, "Public safety services such as 911 emergency response were among residents' top priorities. The City must continue to ensure we have enough police officers, firefighters and paramedics to respond quickly to 911 emergencies."

Residents also identified several other local priorities, including:

  • Fixing streets and repairing potholes
  • Reducing gang activity and drug-related crimes
  • Providing quick responses to 911 emergencies
  • Addressing homelessness
  • Improving fire protection and paramedic services
  • Keeping public areas clean and free of graffiti
  • Providing law enforcement services including neighborhood patrols, crime prevention and investigations

"Although the City strives to maintain our streets and roads, many of our local streets have not been repaired or resurfaced in 20 years," said Assistant City Manager Jason Simpson. "Our residents want to accelerate our ability to fix potholes and repave local streets, and we couldn't agree more."

"By keeping Lake Elsinore safe, clean and well maintained, the City can continue to be a quality place to live, do business and protects local property values," said Yates. "I look forward to continuing to engage residents and our business stakeholders around what makes our community special and how we can work together to maintain our small-town environment."
