Connecting Students With Their Community

The City of Lake Elsinore, in partnership with the Social Work Action Group (SWAG), Canyon Lake Middle School, and Elsinore Middle School is proud to announce Project Connect. This initiative has been set in motion to help homeless individuals on their journey to a better life.

Welcome Home Baskets

We extend an invitation to all Canyon Lake Cougars and Elsinore Tigers to join us in creating welcome home baskets containing the supplies the individuals will need to move into their own apartments and homes.

To contribute to Project Connect, we encourage you to reach out to Ms. Gatrost at Canyon Lake Middle School or Ms. Martinez at Elsinore Middle School to coordinate your donation. 

Together, we can help create a brighter future for homeless individuals transitioning to permanent housing by providing them with the essentials they need to move toward a more secure tomorrow.

Letter Writing Campaign

We are embarking on a special campaign to connect students with individuals experiencing homelessness at the Anchor Crisis Stabilization Center. It is essential to foster kindness and empathy, and this initiative allows us to reach out to those who may be going through challenging times. By writing letters, we aim to let these individuals know they are not alone and that there are people who care.

In your letters, express empathy, offer words of encouragement, and share a positive message. Remember that the goal is to provide comfort and support. Be mindful of your language and avoid making assumptions about their situation. 

Below is an example letter to guide you in crafting your own. Feel free to use it as inspiration. Your words can have a profound impact on someone's day and contribute to a sense of community and understanding.
