The City of Lake Elsinore is now accepting applications to fill the vacant City Council seat representing District 4.
Eligibility and Nomination Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Reside within District 4 of the City of Lake Elsinore
- Be a registered voter in the City of Lake Elsinore
- Applications must include a nomination form with at least 20 original signatures from registered voters residing in District 4. Nomination forms must be picked up at City Hall during regular business hours before the application is started.
Only voters registered in District 4 who meet the criteria and submit a complete application by the deadline will be considered.
Application Deadline
Completed applications must be filed with the City Clerk’s Office by Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
Appointment Process
An appointment to fill the vacancy will take place at one of the following potential City Council meetings:
- Tuesday, October 14, 2025
- Tuesday, October 28, 2025
- Tuesday, November 11, 2025
Meetings are held at the Cultural Center, 183 N. Main Street, Lake Elsinore, CA 92530.
Council Member Duties
Council Members are responsible for:
- Attending regular and special City Council meetings
- Participating on committees, commissions, and outside agency assignments
- Filing legally required Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests
Term of Office
The appointed Council Member will serve through the November 3, 2026, General Municipal Election.
