Public safety is a priority to the City and City Council. Lake Elsinore is fortunate to have many resources, programs, and departments that consistently provide excellent service to the residents and businesses of Lake Elsinore.

The law enforcement professionals of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, with a staff of over 3,600 dedicated men and women, cover this expanse of southern California and are dedicated to serving the citizens of its communities with integrity, professionalism, leadership and loyalty.

Excessive False Alarms
Law enforcement and fire personnel respond to nearly 3,000 false security alarm calls for service each year. As a result, both agencies are forced to direct limited resources to these false alarm calls rather than other higher priority calls.

Hazardous Vegetation & Rubbish Abatement Program
Each year after the rains, vegetation can quickly grow out of control. Tall weeds and overgrowth can harbor vermin and create other nuisances. Weeds and brush are not only unsightly, but also pose a significant safety hazard when they become dry fuel for fire to consume. In addition, overgrowth of vegetation can impede the public's ability to use the streets and sidewalks.

Traffic Engineering
The City of Lake Elsinore recognizes that the manner in which people move within and through the City is a major part of maintaining a quality living environment. The City intends to develop an efficient transportation and circulation system that will protect and enhance the environmental quality of the community and the region.
