In response to climate change, the City of Lake Elsinore is preparing a Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (Climate Plan) to identify actions the City will take to reduce climate-warming emissions and protect people and property from climate impacts.
The City intends to develop a Climate Plan that responds to climate change in ways that deliver benefits to all of Lake Elsinore, with a focus on historically underserved communities that are most vulnerable to climate change. Potential benefits include cleaner air, improved public health, more comfortable homes, increased access to green jobs, and greater resilience to the local effects of climate change. The Climate Plan can also streamline the environmental review process for housing and other new developments in the city.
Everyone is welcome to take part in the development of the Climate Plan, which will involve an approximately one-year planning process with multiple opportunities for the public to learn about the Climate Plan and participate in its development. Having community input will be critical to developing actions that respond to the needs of the Lake Elsinore community.
In just 10 minutes or less, your input can help the City understand how the Climate Plan can deliver benefits to you, your community, and all of Lake Elsinore!
